News from Guildwide: Sir Saegan started the evening out for us with a report from the lands of Norrath. He informed everyone that this Saturday's hunt (yesterday) would be held at "The Hole" as was posted on the message board. I'm sure it was a success. Also spoken was a well deserved thanks to all our tree hugging porters out there. We know what a demand and sacrifice it is to be so willingly at the service of your fellow defenders. A warm felt thanks from all of us. Also a reminder those of you who have secondary characters please let Saegan or Kyna know who you are so we can finish compiling the list. The deamons were active in UO, but our Preceptor Ardion managed to take a breath and fill us in on what's happening there. We have recently sealed an alliance with RKB and BKP and have been in contact with representative from the Virtues Alliance. They are very enthusiastic about our willingness to participate in their events. Ask Ardion if you would like more information or want to get involved in the happenings there. Also on a sad note, initiate Darius has recently left the guild, but has left his small tower in our safe keeping. It has been so named the Darius Memorial Cathedral of the Defenders. According to Preceptor Elbryan, activity in AC has fallen off somewhat with defenders being busy in RL matters, but we are of no want for money, arms or weapons in Solclaim so please get a hold of Elby or Kyna if you need outfitted. We would be happy to help out. That pretty much wrapped it up for the shard reports. Thanks to all of you who attended.-Sir Kyna, Guild Herald and webchick

A "Knight" of Success: It wound up being a beautiful evening in North Freeport as many Defenders gathered to witness the nights events. Firstly we saw Jomayla take the oath of initiation. Welcome into the fold sister. Next we witnessed the culmination of a Defender's training as Squires Saegan and Wei took the oath of knighthood and donned their sashes of white to stand as leaders in the Order of Chivalry. Lastly but certainly not least we watched the long anticipated squiring of Puppypaws to Sir Saegan of House Starfire. Congratulations all of you!-Sir Kyna, Knight Defender and Guild Herald
Reguarding Knighting Ceremony Monday: Please plan ahead when it comes to travel time. We are going to try and start on time so try and be punctual. If your primary character is too far away, you can always make a mule character in Freeport for the occasion. We can always add them into the guildchat for the event. This is a great occasion, and I'll be looking forward to seeing you all there!! Again the knightings are going to be in north Freeport at the Temple of Marr at 8pm CST.-Sir Kyna, Herald to the Cross and proud Knight of the Chivalry

Vigils Announced! I am pleased to announce that Wei Lao Wei, Squire to Sir Kyna Ravenlock of House Valentino and Sagan, Squire to Sir Elbryan of House Starfire, have been given charge to hold vigil as is custom before elevation to knighthood. Time and place TBA. Congradulations both of you. May you find the answers you seek in the light of the Cross.
Initiate Registry: In an effort to improve communication and record keeping (and make the Herald's and Preceptors' jobs much easier) we will be adding an automated form to the website that will allow initiates/perspective HCD, a direct way of passing info such as e-mail, ICQ and any questions they have to the Guild Herald. Once this is in place it will be a required part of the initation process. Until then please e-mail me at HCDherald@uo.netc.com. This in no way is meant to replace our current methods of recruitment or initiation, just a means of making sure people get on the roster in a timely fashion and to ensure we don't have any more eternal initiates. If current initiates and optionally adepts would please e-mail me their apporximate date of initiaton (and/or adept elevation), e-mail where you can be contacted and ICQ if applicable I can start a retroactive record of your accomplishments in the guild. Believe me after 4 years dates start to get hazy and its nice to have this information on file to look back on. Thanks for your cooperation.Sir Kyna Ravenlock, Herald of the Cross
News from Guildwide: We had quite the showing last night with at one point 22 defenders in attendance. The meeting started out with an announcement from our Holy Grand Master Athelstan, that Sir Ardion would take over as UO Preceptor while Sir Elbryan would focus his leadership as Preceptor on AC. Sir Elbryan reported that there has been a resurgence of HCD activity on AC and encourages anyone who might be interested to contact him for more information. Sir Ardion then took over describing recent activities with RBKP and plans for continuing adventures with the possibility of developing an alliance. He also announced the pilgrimage to the Shrines of Virtue for upcoming Monday's Fight Night. Sir EdGuarrdo then took over explaining some recent RPG happenings in UO (most of which I missed due to client problems). The UO report ended with a general call-to-arms to protect the Cross and our allies who follow its virtue. My halberd is at the ready. Sir Mordos spoke on matters of EQ beginning that the guild is saddened with the recent departures of a certain defenders, but we remain strong and vigilant. It was then mentioned that any Knight may raise an initiate to the rank of Adept. The herald would like to remind initiates to contact various house heads in regards to sponsorship as that comes along with becoming an adept. With the evening growing late Athelstan had a few more announcements to make. First he called Puppypaws before him and honored him with the Order of Sir Eshmiel for his service above and beyond the duty of a Defender. Well deserved indeed. Unfortunately the java client decided to have a few more issues that took clearing up, but hopefully anything of important can be reposted on the main board. Then the HGM called the herald forward, assuming to begin the adept ceremonies for some long patient initiates, but was soon embarassingly aware that it was she who was the focus of Athelstan's attention. After a very touching and humbling speech Lord Athelstan bestowed the Order of the Black Eagle upon your still speechless herald. May I live to serve the Cross for many more years to come. We then turned to the long overdue issue of elevating the attending initiates to the rank of Adept. Congratulations Kevian and Ralrona. That concluded our lengthy and exciting first guild meeting of the year.
Knight's Council Reminder: This Sunday at 10pm. We have a bit on the agenda to cover so clear your schedules. See you there.Sir Kyna, Humbled Herald of the Cross
